Enterprise Episode Guide - Season One Episode: 14
Sleeping Dogs
Mission Date: 2151
Another run-in with the Klingons marked Enterprise's investigation of a Class-9 gas giant. When a probe detected a disabled alien vessel, Sub-commander T'Pol, Lt. Reed and Ensign Sato were sent to investigate. They discovered that the vessel was of Klingon origin, and most of the crew was unconscious — save for one crewmember, who ambushed the landing party and stole their shuttlepod. The Klingon woman, named Bu'KaH called her people for warships, insisting that Enterprise had attacked her crew. Enterprise managed to capture the shuttlepod with the grappler and bring it onboard. Once there, Dr. Phlox informed Bu'kaH that there was a deadly neurotoxin in her bloodstream, leading the enraged Klingon to insist that Enterprise had poisoned the crew. Commander Tucker and Ensign Mayweather were able to determine that Bu'kaH's ship was a Raptor-class scout vessel — a ship that possesses a very thick hull, but won't hold up under the pressure of a gas giant.

On the vessel, the landing party worked to find a way out of their predicament. Ensign Sato used her linguistic skills to read some of the instruments, and determined that the vessel was dead in the water. Though Sato's nerves nearly got the better of her, she ended up devising a daring plan: utilize all the torpedoes to propel the ship out of the gas giant. The plan worked, and the resulting shockwave pushed the Raptor to safety.

Meanwhile, Archer managed to convince Bu'kaH to help by informing her that the crew was infected by a toxin in some Xarantine ale. She accompanied him in a shuttlepod to the Raptor, and reluctantly agreed to work with the Enterprise crewmembers to fix the ship's engines. The Klingon captain, however, was not appreciative of the crew's actions — once recovered, he tried to order the Enterprise to surrender. Luckily, Captain Archer convinced him to head home with his honor intact.
