Enterprise Episode Guide - Season One Episode: 20
Oasis
Mission Date: 2151/52
As Enterprise learned in the early days of their voyage, there are many mysteries in space. When the crew was in need of some raw materials to patch up the ship, a trader pointed them in the direction of a nearby shipwreck. The crew was surprised to find humanoids living in the spooky derelict vessel.

The species, called the Kantare, informed the crew that an attack several years ago forced them to make a crash-landing. They claimed they hadn't sent out a distress signal for fear of raiders discovering them. Commander Tucker and Captain Archer offered to fix their ship and get it flying again. Though hesitant, the Kantare eventually accepted Enterprise's help. Tucker also encountered a beautiful young Kantare woman named Liana, daughter of the ship's engineer, Ezral. She impressed him with her knowledge of the ship's systems, and Tucker offered to give her a tour of Enterprise.

Meanwhile, Archer, Lt. Reed and Ensign Mayweather found some discrepancies in the aliens' story after studying a schematic of the ship. The Kantare ship actually crashed due to an internal malfunction, and it happened over two decades ago. The mystery deepened even further when the crew opened a retrieved Kantare escape pod to find the corpse of Shilat, a Kantare who appeared to be alive and well down on the surface. When the crew demanded an explanation, the Kantare grew hostile, confiscated their weapons, and held Tucker and Sub-commander T'Pol hostage. Archer and a security team set out on a rescue mission, resulting in a firefight. Tucker, however, convinced Liana to end it — and she did, by removing datachips from a console, causing the Kantare to disappear one by one. Finally, the Kantares' secret was revealed — the crash actually killed the entire crew, save for Ezral and Liana. Believing himself responsible, Ezral created a holographic crew to give Liana a sense of family. Later, Ezral asked Archer to help him finally take his daughter home. With help from Tucker, repairs on the Kantare ship commenced.
