Starfleet Uniforms
Please choose the movie of series:
A variety of Starfleet uniforms has been featured throughout the various Star Trek series and motion pictures. The various uniforms, as seen in the Star Trek series: The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager, and the motion pictures, from Star Trek: The Motion Picture and on to Star Trek: Insurrection, are represented here.
The original Starfleet uniforms were created by the original Star Trek costume designer William Ware Theiss, whom also designed the original version of the arrowhead-shaped Starfleet emblem. Theiss's work also includes the original uniforms designed for the two pilot episodes, "The Cage" (TOS) and "Where No Man Has Gone Before" (TOS), as well as the various black-colored costumes used during the series itself, and the dress uniforms.
Starfleet uniforms as seen in the first four Star Trek motion pictures were designed by Robert Fletcher. The variations added in Star Trek V were designed by Nilo Rodis, and in Star Trek VI and VII by Dodie Shepherd.
Bill Theiss also designed the original versions of the uniforms for the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, while Robert Blackman and Durinda Rice Wood designed additional versions and modifications in the following seasons.
The Starfleet jumpsuits seen in the series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and the motion picture Star Trek: Generations, was also designed by Robert Blackman. In addition he also designed the newest version of the Starfleet jumpsuit seen in the motion picture Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Insurrection, and in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (fifth season).
